About Flying Swallow Ranch
Flying Swallow Ranch has been in the business of horse
breeding in Central Alberta since 1997 and Helga I. Bourne has been breeding
horses (under her own name and under the farm name of Big Wheel Ranch) since
1955 starting with mainly pintos.
The Flying Swallow brand actually dates back much farther though. It was
originally registered to Jesse Bourne Sr. in 1907 and was used prior to the
1900's (about 1898) by Jesse Bourne Sr. In 1995 Helga I. Bourne
re-registered the brand under new terms put out by the Brand Registry
allowing figure brands instead of letters.
Now, Helga I. Bourne has relocated to Halkirk Alberta from
the family homestead in Ridgewood Alberta (where Jesse Sr. originally
resided) where she raises and trains an excellent herd of POAs.
